EmVenio attends World Vaccine Congress 2026
Last week, the EmVenio team traveled to Washington, D.C., for the 2026 World Vaccine Congress. The week was full of thoughtful conversations, new connections, and meaningful discussions about where vaccine research is headed – and how we can continue improving how trials are designed and delivered.
Throughout the conference, we connected with sponsors, partners, and peers to share more about our community-based approach to clinical research. From accelerating enrollment to improving retention, we’re focused on helping studies reach the right patients more quickly and efficiently.
Dr. Deon Miller on the Future of Obesity Vaccines
One of the highlights for our team was a session led by one of our expert Principal Investigators, Dr. Deon Miller, titled “Is an Obesity Vaccine Still Possible—or Has the Science Moved On?”
Dr. Miller is a board-certified emergency medicine physician, Diplomate of the American Board of Obesity Medicine, and a highly experienced clinical research leader. In her presentation, she explored how vaccines have historically transformed public health, and what today’s obesity epidemic means for the future of prevention and treatment.
While current obesity therapies have made important progress, Dr. Miller emphasized that long-term, scalable solutions remain complex. Vaccine-based approaches are still being explored, but they present unique scientific and operational challenges that require thoughtful trial design, strong site capabilities, and ongoing research innovation. The path forward may take time, but the conversation itself reflects how urgently new approaches are needed.
Connecting Through Community-Based Research
Outside the session rooms, our team focused on connection. We hosted a happy hour at our booth, giving attendees time to network and share ideas. We also offered guided tours of our Community Research Site, providing a hands-on view of how our flexible site network can support vaccine research and other complex therapeutic trials. These tours sparked thoughtful conversations about site flexibility, patient access, and the reality of designing trials to better fit real-world settings.
A Shared Focus on Collaboration
A clear theme throughout the conference was the growing importance of collaboration across the clinical research ecosystem. Speakers and attendees alike emphasized that strong partnerships between sponsors, sites, CROs, regulators, and communities aren’t just beneficial, but directly impact study performance.
At EmVenio, collaboration is at the core of how we operate. By engaging stakeholders early, communicating transparently, and designing trials with real-world communities in mind, we help studies move forward more efficiently while generating data that better reflects the populations they aim to serve.
Looking Ahead
Overall, World Vaccine Congress 2026 was a valuable and energizing experience for our team! We’re grateful for the opportunity to learn from others in the field, contribute to important conversations, and continue sharing how community-based research can help move science forward.
If we didn’t get a chance to connect during the conference – or if you’d like to keep the conversation going – we’d love to hear from you. Contact us to schedule time with our team and talk about what’s next.
